Glendale Chocolate Affaire by L. A. Keller

I can't believe this will be my third year participating in the Glendale Chocolate Affaire as an author. It seems like yesterday that I ventured to the event alone as an aspiring writer. Jenn McKinlay, a New York Times best selling cozy author, spoke to a small group and kept us laughing with her amazing sense of humor. More than that, she gave us hope that we could write and be published. Since then I've had my ups and downs, like most authors do.  There are days when it seems impossible to compose a sentence, let alone another book in the series. Despite those times, I am compelled to write. Regardless of what I'm doing dialogue and scenes have a way of inserting themselves into my train of thought. In the middle of a sleepless night, Jayne may have a conversation with me about what she thinks should happen.  Sound crazy?  Probably not to another author! If you are local and have a chance to stop by for some fun kids entertainment, music, food vendors and wonderful ...

Payson Book Festival 2017

Image
This year's Payson Book Festival was held for the first time in the Mazatzal Casino on the outskirts of Payson.  Authors and readers alike enjoyed the air conditioned ballroom and we were fortunate that despite the heavy rains on Friday and late Saturday all the books remained dry. I don't have attendance figures at this time but based on the numbers of readers passing my table, I think this might have been the best year for the event.  Although the guitar and flute were lovely to listen to, they did interfere with everyone's ability to talk to the authors and left a few of us without a voice by day end. All in all, it was a great day and I'm happy to announce the winner of the book drawing is Sue Edwards. I hope Sue enjoys her book. Here's a few pictures from the event. Tempe Book Festival

I recently participated in the Tempe Book Festival which gave me a chance to meet with more new readers and fans. The event, titled A Celebration of Books was held at the Tempe Library and featured a number of author book signings as well as sales and readings. I was thrilled to be one of only a few authors in attendance and hope they'll invite me back next year. Happy Trails, Leslie Visit my website

Wickenburg Literary Festival

The Wickenburg Literary Festival was held on April 1st through 3rd. I was excited to participate in this event and have the opportunity to meet with more readers. The Voices of the West, included authors, storytelling, food and the opportunity to design your own book cover. For me it was a great opportunity to meet fans and new readers. As Cocktails at Sunset nears completion, I'm even more thrilled to spend a beautiful Arizona day outside enjoying comments from my readers. Thanks to the new readers who purchased their first Jayne Stanford mystery. I hope they enjoy her story as much as I've enjoyed creating it. Happy Trails, Leslie Visit my website
